University of Minnesota Takes the District 8 NSAC Title!

We here at YAYBIA! are proud to announce that our University of Minnesota NSAC team, a.k.a. Chariot, won 1st place at the District 8 National Student Advertising Competition in Minneapolis, MN on Saturday, April 25th. Minnesota State University Moorhead, South Dakota State University, and St. Thomas won 4th, 3rd, and 2nd place, respectively.

Big shout outs to those who came to support us as we pitched our campaign. It really meant a lot.

Also, I have to send my love to Danielle and Jeanine for their excellent delivery yesterday. I could not have wished for a better performance. And Erin- great work on the slides. Your dedication behind the scenes was essential for this win.

We're going to Nationals in Washington D.C.! Boo - ya! Go Chariot!

I'm so happy I could just shout YAYBIAAAA from the rooftops. Thanks again to everyone who came and supported us yesterday. It meant everything to have a sea of people wishing us luck. Our presenters were amazing, our presidents are wonderful leaders, and our team has SUCH TALENT. I love you all.

CONGRATS, ladies! I'm beyond proud and I know you truly deserved this.

Last night everyone was talking about redeeming the fiasco of last year, but I think it's more about validation that our ideas were right, even if the judges didn't recognize it. You never chose the safe route just because you thought it would help your chance of winning. You did your research, you put media and creative together for insanely innovative connections, and you came up with AWESOME ideas. Pure Chariot. It proves that last year was a fluke and inspires me to keep pushing for those great ideas that solve the case.

So on behalf of the Chariot Class of 2008, thank you for never backing down. CONGRATULATIONS! Love you!

Congratulations, my friends! I am really proud, I was so convinced you would win again this time. I wish I could have cheered (or even participated), but I would love to see your book and the presentation when possible.

I keep telling everybody over here what wonderful, talented, winning friends I have over there. Some people are like "oh bummer, you were there the wrong year". Bullshit! I have always believed in our ideas and above all in our team. And by winning this year you confirmed that.

Apart from that, for me personally last year WAS a win. I had the chance to be part of a wonderful team and meet the most wonderful people. And that "official" fail didn't change that a bit - to the contrary!

Ok, nuff said, I am getting sentimental here. So, I second Libby: Thank you for everything. I love and miss you. And now, ladies, Washington is waiting for you! Go and take the nationals by storm as well.

By the way, I do have a final tip for you: Never ever allow foreign copy writers on team again. =)

I feel like a proud mom! And I second everything from Libby's comments. Way to go on pushing the great ideas, and solving the case. I am so proud that Chariot didn't back down on being ahead of the curve and crazy innovative, just because last year was a mess with judges not recognizing the value of that. Way to go team, and you ALL more than deserve the trip to nationals. Congrats and HAVE FUN!

this will be great experience for you at your firsts jobs as Walmart greeters. That's about all it will be good for.

@billy Actually, I got my job from NSAC...so have many of my teammates in all major Minneapolis agencies, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boulder, and Dubai. When we won Coke, we got to present for Google and the vp marketing of Coke. So it seems that NSAC championship actually dominates in the job search. Sorry, Billy. Plz get out of the bitter barn.

Love,
Chariot
